How long have you been dragon boating?

How long have you been a member of Bradford Barracudas?

​7 months - Bradford Barracudas is where I started my dragon boating journey

How did you get into dragon boating?

I saw a Facebook post and then by coincidence found out that a colleague was also keen to try it. So we both went along, felt really welcomed so we joined up. 

​What is your favourite seat in the boat?

3rd bench, right side. I have recently started helming and loving that.

​

What is your personal paddling highlight?

Nationals 2025, and feeling like I was actually able to contribute to the collective team effort in our races.

What are your ambitions for the club this year?

To keep growing the club, improve engagement on social media and to build up the coaching team through paddler development pathways.

What do you love about paddling?

Being part of a brilliant team, the support that you get from other team members is amazing. It's a great work out and loads of fun. I love being on the water too,  it's a great way to reset and shake off any stress or anxiety.

What one piece of advice would you give to new paddlers?

Don't over think it and don't worry about being new to the sport! Relax and focus on the timing...technique can come afterwards. Most importantly don't forget to breathe.

Just started helming so working towards basic helm & maybe coaching awards​​​​
