Barracudas Bound for Thailand

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

The World Dragon Boat Racing Championships are almost upon us where 4,000 athletes from 56 countries travel to Thailand and we are proud that 3 of those athletes are Bradford Barracudas! 🐲

Lauren Sykes, Danny Patchett and Angus Bell have secured their place on Team GB and will be representing our country in the U24's Dragon Boat Squad and competing in the championships from the 20th - 25th August 2019.

With Lauren already in Thailand, Danny and Angus fly from Manchester this Sunday to join the rest of the U18 & U24’s squad in Paytta.

A 4 day regime of fitness and swimming awaits our squad members which will be followed by training at the race site in Bang Phai Reservoir, Ban Chang District, Rayong Province on day 5.

For those that haven't booked their tickets to head to beautiful Thailand, you can watch from the comfort of your own living room as the event will be live-streamed on the link below (please note that Thailand are 6 hours ahead of UK time)

One race we can’t wait to watch is when all 3 of our Barracudas join forces in the same boat as they take part in the 1K collaborative boat featuring U18 and U24 squad.

Good Luck Lauren, Danny and Angus and Go Team GB!! 🇬🇧
